Paddle Board Selection 101: Finding Your Perfect Match
When paddle boarding, it's important to choose a board that provides stability, comfort, and ease of use for your adventures. Consider the following types of boards based on your skill level:
1. Beginner: For individuals who are new to paddle boarding and have never tried it before, it is recommended to start with a wide and stable board that is easy to balance and maneuver. It is important to learn essential skills such as paddling techniques, standing up, and turning.
Choosing a board with a larger surface area in contact with the water can enhance stability, making it easier for beginners to find their balance. Our Body Glove and Nautica boards have been specifically designed to provide a high point of contact with the water, offering greater stability for beginners.
By selecting a board that prioritizes stability and balance, beginners can have a more enjoyable and successful paddle boarding experience as they learn and develop their skills on the water.

2. Intermediate: At this level, individuals have enough experience to handle different types of water and wave conditions. Intermediate paddle boarders have good balance and can maneuver the board confidently. They should have a smaller and less stable board that is faster and easier to maneuver.
3. Advanced: Paddle boarders who are highly experienced and have mastered the techniques, skills and principles of paddling. They can handle challenging waves and currents, perform advanced moves and tricks, and compete in races and competitions. Advanced paddle boarders should have a narrower board that has greater maneuverability and speed.
It’s important to remember that these skill levels are just a guideline and everyone progresses at their own pace. No matter what level of skill you’re at, it’s always important to adhere to safety guidelines and follow the rules of the waterway in which you’re paddle boarding. Happy boarding!!
